Andrew Thornton – Habit: The Key to Delivering Purposeful Leadership

What habits would you like to introduce into your life to become a more effective leader?

In this highly interactive session, Andrew will outline why he believes that a lack of habits is what is stopping so many organisations delivering their purpose, their ESG goals and being at their most effective. As a former supermarket owner, he will describe the approach he and his colleagues use to change all this and deliver much more effective leadership. You will get the chance to consider what habits you’d like to introduce to your life.

About the speaker:

Andrew Thornton speaks passionately about how he ran Thornton’s Budgens and his journey from being a profit-focused entrepreneur to heart-centred leader. He talks about running a business with a purpose, the work he does with leaders to help them develop their habits and how this approach can allow businesses to be a force for good and more profitable at the same time. His story is insightful and entertaining, a real-life practical example of how a leader and a business can change.

Andrew has over 30 years’ experience speaking in Europe, North America and Asia on Food Retailing, and over the last 5 years has turned his attention to the broader topic of the role of business in society. He founded Heart in Business Limited in 2015 to advise and train other business leaders in opening their hearts. Last year he published ‘Putting the Heart back into Business’, which he co-authors with his partner Eudora Pascall.
