How can we attune to what is uniquely ours to do?

 

The global coronavirus pandemic has brought into sharp relief the question of our ‘why’ – the meaningful reason that we do what we do. What gets me out of bed in the morning? What puts a spring in my step? What’s the real value I can add? Finding answers to these questions in our search for energising work where people and the planet matter is gathering pace and unlikely to go away.

The benefits of becoming purpose-led are bountiful. Individuals feel more alive, teams are more aligned and organisations become more ambitious. There is, however, a rub. Without a move to greater authenticity, purpose generates cynicism. This gap is a trap that is worse than having no purpose at all and accusations of ‘purpose wash’ abound.

This interactive and experiential webinar focuses on how you can grapple with the question of purpose in your own life. Inspired by the growing movement of purpose-driven business, we look at a unique model of four different types of purpose to start to uncover a ‘true’ or authentic purpose rather than a counterfeit version that doesn’t bring real fulfilment. We will explore how to integrate our heart and head, our intuition and intellect, honouring our ancestors and listening to ‘whispers of the future’ as we attune to what is uniquely ours to do.

Sarah Rozenthuler is a chartered psychologist, dialogue coach, leadership consultant and published author. She has over 15 years international experience consulting to many organisations including Discovery Inc, Boots, Savills, NatWest, BCG, Church of England, NHS, Livewell Southwest, Book Trust, Choice Support and The Futures Group. At Saïd Business School, Sarah teaches on the Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership Programme and support clients to galvanise purpose in their organisations, teams and leaders.

Sarah is the CEO of Bridgework, a consulting company she founded in 2007 to inspire leaders and strengthen organisations to become a force for good in the world. Sarah is the author of Powered by Purpose: Energise Your People To Do Great Work (with a foreword by Paul Polman, former CEO Unilever) and How to Have Meaningful Conversations: Seven Strategies for Talking About What Matters Most (Watkins, 2019).
