Wisdom's Book

Subtitled 'The Sophia Anthology', this is a reader with extracts from 16 writers, many of whom will be wholly unfamiliar to the general reader. The introduction sets out some of the essential characteristics of Christian theosophy, with its emphasis on direct experience and the reading of nature as a spiritual book via the visionary faculty. Each section is preceded by a brief biographical commentary, which makes the book a real voyage of discovery as an introduction to the likes of John Pordage and Ann Bathurst.
