Dr. Ann Roden writes: This book attempts to present Sushrut Samhita - the classical Sanskrit text on surgery - in its right perspective. It tries to bring together the Chinese and Ayurvedic systems of Acupuncture and Marma Points, with extensive illustrations and Sanskrit verses. There is no doubt that this system has much to offer and practitioners in the West need to understand what the system is trying to tell us. However, in order to do this, authors must write in English English and not Indian English, otherwise it is a complete turn-off, leading to frustration for the West and a feeling of rejection by the East.
