Transformation of the Psyche - The Symbolic Alchemy of the Splendor Solis

This will undoubtedly prove to be one of the most significant books published in 2003. I have seen these extraordinary alchemical images in lectures by Anne Baring and Marie Angelo, and they are beautifully reproduced here. The senior author's acquaintance with the book goes back to 1937 when he was completing his medical studies and was in part time analysis with C.G. Jung. The book contains a general introduction to alchemy and depth psychology before coming to a psychological commentary on the three series of plates as the symbolism moves towards integration and wholeness. Any reader with a serious interest in transformation processes and symbols should buy this book.
