This Holy Man

I remember listening to the wisdom of Metropolitan Anthony at an early Mystics and Scientists conference in Winchester. He had a remarkable presence, to which this book by one of his students bears witness. It tells the story of his life and inner struggles in a way that does not exclude the reader with a vision of unmitigated greatness. However a remarkable singleness of purpose emerges from the narrative - and it is interesting to reflect that this prelate was also a qualified physician, a training which gave his pastoral care an extra dimension.
