Philosophy Spirituality

The Vision of the Fool and other Writings

Readers unacquainted with the art and writings of Cecil Collins should give themselves a present of this beautifully produced book. Collins was an artist deeply influenced by the perennial philosophy and who regarded the role of the artist to be an expression of the transformation of consciousness, which means being in contact with the centre of one's being, which is also the centre of the universe. This means moving beyond how knowledge to 'why' knowledge: 'the higher worlds are inaccessible to the insensitive; they cannot be reached by knowledge of them, but only by rapport with these worlds. The book includes a wide-ranging interview first published in Temenos and re-edited here; and nearly 50 pages of plates, some in colour. Both words and images speak to and nourish the soul of true vision.
