The Joy of Burnout
how the end of the world can be a new beginning
Subtitled 'how the end of the world can be a new beginning', this book owes its origins to the author's own experience of burnout. The title conveys the paradoxical message of the book, that there is not only life after burnout, but that it involves what the author calls 'radical healing'. Glouberman draws on the experiences of others as well to tease out the characteristic patterns of the burnout process, which most readers will recognise to some degree. In that sense, the book makes good prophylactic reading!
