At the end of the book, he draws his conclusions together from the implications of his findings, insisting that the universe is alive and that materialism is an inadequate explanation of life and consciousness, speculating that the physical plane is a place for fundamental spiritual development. He foresees a time when the phenomena he describes will be more widely accepted within an extended science.
