Taking Your Soul to Work

Many of us are concerned about how we can best combine contemplation with action, doing with being. In this interesting book, the authors identify what they call nine deadly sins in the workplace, offering nine life-giving resources for workplace spirituality and corresponding fruits leading to a spirit-infused existence. The first seven are the standard seven deadly sins of pride, greed, lust, gluttony, anger, sloth (defined as pathological busyness) and envy, along with restlessness and boredom. The book is arranged so that one can either read it horizontally across the themes or vertically in sections. Although primarily aimed at a Christian audience, the book has many helpful suggestions about integrating spirituality and work along with exercises and passages of dialogue.
