Solving Climate Change: Transforming International Politics

Written in the wake of the failure of Copenhagen, this short book argues that our nation-centric worldviews must catch up with new world-centric implications of globalisation. The fact that individual nations must maintain a competitive advantage in global markets makes it almost impossible for them to make the first move without compromising this position. The book builds on John's earlier work on Simultaneous Policy (www.simpol.org) which provides a means whereby countries can move together without putting themselves at a disadvantage. This new book draws on the work of Ken Wilber, and is supported by him. Hence, the systemic framework will be familiar to some readers. Eventually, we will have to evolve a politics that starts with the world, but this will be enormously challenging. However, the stakes are very high - if we fail to do this, then our business as usual policies will lead to ecological and social collapse. Highly recommended as a new way forward.
