Sky and Psyche

Subtitled 'the relationship between cosmos and consciousness', this volume originated in two conferences held in Bath under the auspices of the Sophia Centre in Bath Spa University, where it is possible to read Cultural Astronomy and Astrology, studying the impact of astrological and astronomical beliefs on cultures, religions, politics and the arts. The contributions are wide ranging, bringing in Chartres Cathedral, the Russian spirit of place of, sun gods in Africa and connections between Jung, Rumi and Gandhi. Contributors include James Hillman, Richard Tarnas and Liz Greene. Each piece is introduced by a short paragraph, and many are illustrated. Perspectives vary from the academic to the personal, which weaves a rich tapestry of insight. It is refreshing to see such considerations becoming part of our cultural discourse.
