Secrets of the Exodus

The Egyptian Origins of the Hebrew People

This is a book that created a sensation in France - and one can understand why when one reads this scholarly presentation based on 20 years research. Their main claim is that the Hebrews originated in the monotheist city of Akhetaton and whose exodus to Canaan can be dated to around 1340 BC. The authors further claim that the genesis of the Hebrew Alphabet is to be found in Egyptian hieroglyphics and that Moses and Abraham were the Egyptian pharaohs Rameses I and Akhenaten. The book is controversial but deserves serious consideration.
