This book is both a primer and a resource for the specialist. It provides an accessible outline of the whole of Freud's work through analysis of key texts (including letters). These are then interspersed with colour coded boxes giving biographical and historical references as well as discussions of the views of post=Freudians, developments of Freud's concepts and the emergence of new concepts as they appear in his writings. The volume is an amazing editorial achievement for which readers of Freud should be most grateful.
