Presidential Takedown
How Anthony Fauci, the CDC, NIH, and the WHO Conspired to Overthrow President Trump
This insider account by a senior pandemic adviser to the COVID-19 task force is aptly subtitled ‘How Anthony Fauci, the CDC, NIH and the WHO conspired to overthrow President Trump’ and it shockingly delivers this message, which I first heard on a jaw-dropping interview over a year ago. Dr Alexander has a background in epidemiology, evidence-based medicine and research methodology, and he formerly worked for the WHO. In the spring of 2020, he was contacted by the White House for independent and evidence-based input into the COVID-19 task force dominated by senior health officials. The fact that he had been independently invited by the White House was a red flag to the deep state bureaucracy, who immediately set about creating obstructions by failing to process the necessary paperwork and not paying his agreed salary. This took three months to sort out, at the end of which he received no back pay. Alexander’s scientific integrity in following the evidence in spite of official opposition marked him out, while at the same time making him a target whose ‘meddlesome’ activity had to be stopped in its tracks.
Alexander had naïvely supposed that health officials would base their policy recommendations on the latest scientific findings. He argued this in detail in a series of emails and referenced articles relating to the dismissal of effective early treatments – hydroxychloroquine had been supported and indeed used by the President himself – the efficacy of lockdowns, school closures and mask mandates. In his introduction, the author recounts that he was told he had committed a fatal error by criticising Dr Fauci and the NIH openly. As ‘a black low-level type scientist volunteer’ he had no right to lecture Fauci – even if he was right – so ‘they at the NIH and CDC and Fauci will move to destroy your name and career now, and you will never be able to work in DC or recover. They will use the media to slander you and cancel you and censor you.’ (p. xxxvi)
The tactic is to leak a few lines of an email of yours and build a story around it. The informant explains that ‘these people are experts at destroying the careers of those they don’t like’ (see recent interview with Jordan Peterson and Dr Scott Jensen as a further case in point - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YRMajzRKU8). He adds that he and his colleagues really like the science-based informed information he has been sharing, but this is not about him, it is about Trump: ‘you work for him and his HHS so you are marked for destruction as are all who work there for him.’ Many colleagues confidentially told him that they agreed with what he was saying, but they were afraid of sacrificing their careers and losing their livelihoods. This is exactly what happened to Alexander, who had also openly criticised Dr Deborah Birx in front of the President, which made her apoplectic.
The corrupt health and media systems operate on ‘subversion, leaks, lies, spin, and a corrupted media.’ (p. 136) Leaks create scandals, whereby the reputations of those marked for disposal are trashed. The task force itself ‘was undermining him [Trump] in conjunction with the Deep State bureaucracy, the CDC, NIH, FDA, and NIAID officials. At each move. They were determined to make President Trump’s pandemic response a failure, yet it was their policies he was approving. It is and was the most remarkable feat to witness.’ Two cases in point in the run-up to the general election were official resistance to school openings and the FDA ensuring that the announcement on the vaccine came only after election day. An FDA official also tried to persuade Alexander to withdraw an article critical of vaccine research flaws, and confirmed that the EUA would only be put out after the election: ‘The mission is to ensure Trump gets no credit.’ (p. 116) Another official (p. 51) explained to him early on that ‘none of us in the bureaucracy wanted Trump’ and that they were dedicated to making every day of his life a living hell: ‘Our job is to make the pandemic response appear to be a disaster, and we coordinate roughly every day across the different agencies to make it look that way and achieve the goal.’ Alexander’s boss at the HHS, Michael Caputo, said on a video that ‘there are scientists who work for this government who do not want America to get well, until after Joe Biden is president.’ The media just said in response that Caputo had had a mental breakdown! This is all shocking stuff, but true nonetheless.
The climax of the narrative is the conversation in which Alexander was fired (pp. 150-51). The bureaucratic deep state wanted to get rid of him because he was a ‘meddler’, partly because of what he had just said about natural immunity in relation to the vaccine. He received a call from the HHS after the fatal leak telling him that he needed to resign by 4 PM, or he would be fired. If he co-operated, they would issue a statement saying that the White House no longer needed his services. If not, the statement would say that he had been fired ‘and we will release a unflattering information about you.’ At one point, he had one phone connected to the White House, and the other to the HHS. The White House was telling him not to resign as he was their appointee, while the woman from HHS said ‘Health and Human Services has all the power here. You work for us. We can fire you if we want, the president has no power.’ He asks if they are ignoring what the president says, to which she replies: ‘The decision has been made and you will be terminated, Dr Alexander. We are offering you the chance to resign, and, as we said, the president has no power.’ He agreed to resign.
Alexander concludes that ‘the HHS and COVID-19 did not want their work reviewed by an evidence-based researcher…. There was basically no science involved with the Deep State’s decision-making, only what could hurt President Donald Trump’s re-election chances.’ Many other relevant issues are thoroughly covered in this well-documented and disturbing book, but its main message is encapsulated in the title I have chosen for this review – politics trumps science.
