Persephone Wakes

Subtitled 'of minds, machines and immortality', this is a novel set in the far future in which a conscious android, Persephone, creates problems with her free will in a society now accustomed to zombies. It critically takes up many of the themes of consciousness studies research of the last 10 years on the basis that consciousness can neither be explained away nor reduced to the functioning of a machine.
