Meetings - Autobiographical Fragments
Martin Buber was one of the great spiritual writers of the 20th century who brought Hasidic wisdom to public attention and was the author of 'I and Thou'. This short book contains some remarkable aperçus, including a passionate conversation with a distinguished thinker about whom Buber says 'to be old is a glorious thing when one has not unlearned how to begin'. Then, at the end, Buber asks if he prefers books to men: at one point he might indeed have preferred the latter but not now in the wisdom of his old age.
