Maya Mire – A Spiritual Journey into Cosmic Truth and the Dawning of a New World
This book is a spiritual autobiography and also, effectively, a biography of George King by one of his closest followers. Its title reflects the Maya of our ingrained ignorance and the Mire in which we find ourselves. King was the founder of the Aetherius Society, trained as a yogi, and received over 600 transmissions from cosmic intelligences. The author states that we stand at the threshold of the greatest change in the total history of evolution upon earth, as we open up to our full cosmic identity and the underlying purpose of human life on earth. Our pivotal point represents a crucial choice mirrored in the prior destruction of the civilisations of Lemuria and Atlantis for similar reasons of hubris and lack of wisdom in relation to advanced – especially destructive – technology. We have been unable to overcome our more basic nature, hence the current need for other intelligences to help us awaken spiritually into the Oneness that we are.
The author claims that evolution is being speeded up, and describes a number of spiritual operations undertaken by King over a period of time towards building a new world – here it would have been useful to spend more time outlining the teachings than the details of the operations themselves – besides, readers have a very different perspective from disciples, who accept King as Adept Number One. A message from as far back has 1967 about the turning point of evolution heralds the hour as that of Light or darkness, Truth or lies – we are still and emphatically in this time, and it is imperative, as the author maintains, that we become conscious of our divine heritage and purpose, ‘seeing through the lens of Spiritual Oneness.’
