Le Gourou de la Riviera

When we had a Network meeting in the South of France recently, Alexandre Grigoriantz was able to give us an account of the various esoteric activities that had taken place in the area during the early part of the last century. This book tells the full story and is centred round an enigmatic figure Trebitsch Lincoln who was then operating under the assumed name of Chao-Kung, having been ordained as a Buddhist monk in the early 1930s. A number of the Midi esotericists were sufficiently impressed with Chao-Kung to set off with him on a disastrous journey to Shanghai, from where some of them never returned. It is a fascinating if disturbing episode of social history.
