In the End - The Beginning - the life of hope

A theological meditation on hope, as the title suggests. The book is structured round birth, rebirth and resurrection, beginning with birth and childhood. Then some arresting personal experience of catastrophe in Hamburg in the summer of 1943, when 40,000 people died in a series of RAF raids, the author himself narrowly escaping death. This leads on to reflections on death and immortality, where the discussion remains more theologically than experientially based in its expectation of divine faithfulness.
