God's Action in Nature's World

Robert John Russell is the founding director of the Center for Theology and Natural Sciences, which he established 25 years ago. This volume of essays in his honour is divided into three parts: creative mutual interaction between science and theology, quantum physics and divine action, and cosmology and God's action in nature's world. These represent the main areas of Russell's intellectual interest. Ted Peters contributes an introductory essay which also gives an overview of developments in the field. Many well-known names are included, for instance Templeton Prize laureates Ian Barbour, Charles Townes, John Polkinghorne, Arthur Peacocke and Paul Davies. As one might expect, the book is pitched at a scholarly level and will principally be of interest to those already familiar with issues in science and religion.
