A Contemporary Introduction to the Theory of Knowledge
by Robert Audi ✦ Review by David Lorimer, December 2010
Third edition of what is described as a contemporary introduction to the theory of knowledge. Highly acclaimed by his peers, the book is a comprehensive text for students about all aspects of epistemology. The three parts treat sources of justification, knowledge and truth, the structure and growth of justification and knowledge, and finally its nature and scope. This involves detailed discussions of perception, memory, consciousness, reason and testimony. This last chapter is of particular interest in the formation of beliefs and the relationship between knowledge and justification. The book is too technical for the general reader but is a wonderful resource for the more advanced student.
