A volume in the OUP series 'Very Short Introductions' which in this case is an abridged version of the author's 2003 textbook already reviewed. Most possible authors of such a volume have a distinctive view on the subject - as has Sue Blackmore - of which the uninitiated reader may be unaware. Having said this, Sue does provide a general overview of the field and its existing conundrums. However, not all readers will agree with her views on the self, conscious will and consciousness as a 'grand delusion'.
