This is a beautifully produced and multilevelled book exploring and celebrating the eternal cycles of nature. It divides the year into eight parts earned draws on ancient understandings of the calendar. It is striking that our ancestors (e.g. Celts and Druids) never failed to celebrate the passing of the seasons, while we ourselves remained largely out of touch. After all, it is such a simple way of bringing people together into a community. The author draws on myth and folklore from many traditions, using her own symbolic paintings as well as art and photographs from nature. The book is perhaps best read seasonally as a reminder to the reader of their participation in the great cycles.
