Awakening to Child Health I

The author of this remarkable treatise is a South African the doctor who has been practising anthroposophical medicine for over 25 years and has also been a school doctor. This is the first volume of three and focuses on holistic child and adolescent development. It explains the anthroposophical understanding of the human being in terms of a body-mind-spirit continuum which involves over time. The whole human journey is mapped out from conception through to adulthood with specific chapters on the first three years, the years up to 7, then 7 to 14 and 14 to 21. It aims at self understanding, drawing on the intuitive wisdom within, and encourages readers to awaken to the reality of childhood as a 'healing power that is desperately needed to balance life destroying materialism of our age.' The format of the book enables the reader to recapitulate their own childhood, but also to understand the stages through which their children or grandchildren may be passing.
