Subtitled 'the history, technology and philosophy of Civilisation X', this is a groundbreaking study making a strong case for the existence of much more sophisticated technology than is currently acknowledged to have been involved in building the pyramids. It is sobering to reflect on how little would be left of our civilisation if we were overtaken by the kind of catastrophe that has occurred during the earth's history. The book's argument hinges on the discovery of an extraordinary stone at Abu Rawash which shows signs of having been machine tooled. The sheer scale and precision of the technology involved suggests to the author that a technically advanced civilisation existed in the remote past, which had the skills and power to quarry, move and dress multi-ton blocks of stones and had the technology to cut and shape granite into beautiful temples.
