A Benevolent Virus
This is an unusual book tracking the lives of two very different people after a near-death experience - a television reporter and a former US Marine. In both cases, the experience turns their previous understanding upside down and creates some communication problems around them, notably with colleagues who can be dismissive. The journey involves redefining the meaning of life and seeking to be heard from a new angle by communicating their insights. There is an interesting ambivalence in that people are fascinated by such experiences but wary because it forces them to think about death and their own impermanence.
