Life is a Song of Love: A Woman's Spiritual Journey of the Heart and Womb

Life is a Song of Love is an exquisitely feminine journey of profound healing and spiritual transformation. Deeply rooted in her own life experience and drawing from ancient wisdom teachings of the Great Mother, Sally Patton weaves together a path to oneness consciousness and individual wholeness. Written with the wisdom that comes from deep vulnerability, this book shows us that fully engaging with our feelings is a vital part of our transformational and healing journey. Highlighting our loss of connection to the earth and consequently to our own inner goddess and birthing wisdom due to the medicalised management of the birthing process resonated particularly with me. In the chapter entitled Lilith and Sexuality, Patton poignantly writes "our wombs are still being fought over, with the focus on birth control and abortion in an attempt to control what men can never do" (p. 98). As a healer and lifelong advocate in the field of 'natural' childbirth this is a world I know well.

Separation and patriarchal consciousness with its resulting soul wounding is alive and well today and a potent block to our spiritual progress. But there is a way forward. Weaving a thread directly from the wisdom of the Universal Grandmother, Patton, a visionary and mentor, urges us to connect with this wisdom and that of Grandmother Spider as they 'weave and balance the threads of light that hold our divinity in this dream of separation until all species on earth are awake to their Christ Selves.' As a healer in my elder years, I resonated with much of this inspiring book. I would recommend it to anyone seeking to understand their own inner feminine wounding and most particularly as a guided path to onward spiritual evolution and the great awakening taking place today in our humankind.
