Love – The Mysterious Logic of the Heart
This articulation of a philosophy of love corresponding to our deepest human longing is part of a larger movement to recover the importance of love as a principle so as to reconcile individual freedom with fraternity. The five chapters discuss love in relation to hate, sexuality, death, reason, and life, inspired by the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner. It addresses the most profound issues of life, and my only critical observation is that the author falls short of integrating soul and body in his treatment of sexuality – here, I believe the Chinese Tao of Loving as a great deal to teach us in not making a sharp distinction between sacred and profane love.
