Sophia – Goddess of Wisdom and Guardian of the Earth
This is a remarkable text – the fruit of deep inner exploration – which was rewritten after the author’s near-death experience as he journeyed more deeply within himself. It invites readers to awaken to their own direct experience of the spiritual being known as Sophia, who is seeking to be perceived unknown in our time. At a personal level, I am undergoing a process of surrendering to destiny (p. 11) that ‘requires affirmation even when this destiny seems to work counter to one’s own intentions.’ The answer that one has to entrust oneself to the depths of life and go with the emergent flow, developing one’s own sense of truth. It is in silence that we can enter into unity, where we find that ‘love is found on wisdom, and wisdom streams forth through love. (p. 66) Moreover, our planet is one of suffering and love, wounding and being wounded, light and shadow. (p. 80)
The author sees suffering and crises as signposts through the shadow realms of the soul, prefiguring rebirth. This applied to his own near-death experience and it was fascinating that his deep meditative process enabled him to recover elements of the experience of which he was not aware at the time. He also encourages us to speak to Nature and see if we can perceive the beings behind its activity. There are many inspiring direct transmissions from Sophia, who remarks that we have reached a point where we once again need the aid of the spiritual world whereby the power in the soul can awaken and can alleviate suffering and heal wounds. It is a timely reminder to read that ‘every single being finds fulfilment only in and through the existence of other beings’ through a realisation of commonality. Another striking feature of the book is a series of beautiful line drawings and poems that sum up the message. Here is one from the beings of the elemental world:
The TIME has arrived once and for all to raise yourself O man to become conscious of the high powers you possess with which you can walk onward
no moment is so unimportant that you need not inform it with the sacred life of your soul
as long as you do not bless the earth is lacking its profoundest gift bless O man
