The Gnostic Bible

You can see that this book was published some time ago – a friend just gave me a spare copy, and I can highly recommend it as an essential addition to the library of anyone interested in Gnosticism (the dictation system produced ‘narcissism’ (!)) and the gnostic gospels. The coverage is truly comprehensive from many traditions, with a superb overall introduction by Marvin Meyer, as well as informative introductions to the individual sections. These not only include the classic gospels, but also literature from Hermetic, Mandaean, Manichean, Islamic and Cathar sources. Such literature is increasingly relevant in a time when more and more people are interested in gnosis, direct self-knowledge, path of liberation and transformation.
