Foreign Entanglements – Ukraine, Biden and the Fractured American Political Consensus

The forensic detective work undertaken in this meticulously documented book takes on new significance in the light of President Biden pardoning his son Hunter for any crimes he might have committed since 2014, which happens to be the year in which the CIA – and Victoria Nuland - actively managed the coup to remove the incumbent president and replace him with someone more friendly to US and NATO interests. The book reveals a real can of worms with endemic corruption and tangled financial interests. A key source is Ukrainian MP Andrii Derkach, not surprisingly dismissed by US intelligence as a Russian agent for revealing the extent of the Biden family financial interests in Ukrainian energy – Hunter Biden was a director of Burisma on a retainer of $50,000 a month. Specifically, Derkach’s tapes contain a section in which Vice-President Biden appears to be giving direct orders to the president to dismiss the chief prosecutor General Viktor Shokin who was charged with the investigation of Burisma and its CEO. One of the aims of Burisma was to free Ukraine from Russian energy dependence. Biden himself admitted as much in January 2018 in a presentation given to the Council on Foreign Relations, saying that if Shokin was not fired, then the US would not provide a further $1 billion in loan guarantees.

The author also provides details of the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story during the 2020 presidential campaign, fraudulently coordinating a letter written by 50 intelligence officers claiming that it was Russian disinformation designed to interfere with the US election – only later revealed as a setup coordinated by Anthony Blinken. Later chapters give details of the outsourced Ukrainian biolabs – the US themselves reported 336 such facilities to the Conference of Parties of the Biological Weapons Convention. Hunter Biden was involved in raising funds for Metabiota, a company involved in such research in military biological programmes funded by DTRA and DARPA. There is also extensive coverage of the weaponisation of the justice system in both directions, and in his conclusion, the author says: ‘Ominously, the message sent to the American public is that truth itself is deemed expendable if it threatens the interests of those willing to impose authoritarian rule domestically before going to a war with a nuclear-armed state in order to escape political retribution.’
