Health Healing
Getting Healthy in Toxic Times
This highly informative book is an ecological doctor’s prescription for healing your body and the planet, given the extent and range of toxins and pollutants to which we are exposed in our air, water, soil, food, heavy metals and electromagnetic energy. Our health and that of the planet are inextricably linked so that what we do to the Earth we are doing to ourselves and other lifeforms; when we pollute the planet, we pollute ourselves, and there is a close relationship between the health crisis and the environmental crisis, in addition to the overall effect of stress. Our industrial agricultural system is also a source of toxicity, and the author outlines seven compensatory regenerative principles. In each chapter, she describes remedial action that readers can take. The biological effects of electromagnetic fields are increasingly well-known, but industry interests are consistently prioritised over human health, not to mention the well-documented effects on wildlife and insects – throughout the book, there are many illustrative case histories. We should also be paying attention to indoor pollution, which comes in many forms. A further important message is that physicians need to be trained to take into account the effects of toxic pollution in its many ecological forms so as to include such factors in their diagnoses.
