THE GREAT RESET AND THE WAR FOR THE WORLD

‘Build back better.’ How often did you hear this phrase repeated by politicians around the world during the pandemic? These included Joe Biden, Justin Trudeau and Boris Johnson among others. If you have heard of Alex Jones, then it is likely as a ‘crackpot conspiracy theorist’ bankrupted for his extreme views. It now turns out that his case may have been orchestrated by the CIA in order to ‘chop his legs off.’ One has to ask why they would want to do this if they did not regard him as dangerous to their cause in questioning mainstream narratives. As Tucker Carlson – another journalist regarded by some as a traitor for interviewing Putin and Lavrov - observes, why are the most powerful people in the country trying to silence him? As reported in the Durden Dispatch, a CIA contracts officer in San Diego named Gavin O'Blennis told an undercover journalist: “You can kind of put anyone in jail if you know what to do,” adding ”You set ’em up. You create the situation where they have no choice but to act on their impulse. And once they act on that impulse, some would call that entrapment.”

As the title suggests, the globalist World Economic Forum Great Reset is being relentlessly rolled out via the UN agenda 2030 sustainable development goals in a process of engineered global collapse through the pandemic, war, food shortages and energy price hikes, all of which maintain the public in a state of fear and anxiety that facilitates compliance (see also States of Emergency, by Kees van der Pijl reviewed by Edward Curtin in a previous issue). The underlying dynamic pits our desire for freedom against a digital totalitarian technocracy seeking tyrannical control. Jones analyses a series of books by Klaus Schwab (Chairman of the WEF) eloquently articulating his narrative, threats to the system, and the solution proposed by his corporate Davos Group: problem, reaction, solution. Some of the buzz phrases include ‘multi-stakeholder cooperation,’ ‘equitable and inclusive,’ ‘promote the common good,’ ‘enhance human dignity,’ and ‘revitalised regulatory environment.’ Stakeholders are in fact mainly corporations and governments, cooperating from the top down in public-private partnerships (PPPs). Ordinary people are not consulted, and are indeed regarded as incapable of making the right decisions, which should be outsourced to experts. In 2022, Schwab said in his opening address to the WEF that ‘the future is not just happening. The future is built by us, by a powerful community here in this room. We have the means to improve the state of the world…’ (p. 96)

A background chapter is informed by the work of Patrick Wood, whose fundamental work on technocracy and the Trilateral Commission I have reviewed in these pages. I think Wood is right that the WEF is to complete the plans of the New International Economic Order and the Trilateral Commission (p. 48) and that what they have in mind is the technocratic system developed in China crucially supported by the Rockefellers and Kissinger in the 1970s, inspired by the work of Zbigniew Brzezinski, who wrote that the impact of technology would involve ‘the gradual appearance of a more controlled and directed society. Such a society will be dominated by an elite whose claim to political power would rest on allegedly superior scientific knowledge.’ Chillingly, he continues: ‘Unhindered by the restraints of traditional liberal values, this elite would not hesitate to achieve its political ends by using the latest modern techniques for influencing public behaviour and keeping society under close surveillance and control.’ (p. 63, quoted from Between Two Ages: America's Role in the Technetronic Era, 1970) This amounts to efficient capitalism with zero political freedom, as we experienced during the pandemic, to which the next chapter is devoted and which was the launchpad for the Great Reset. Individuals must be overruled by the power of the group, and we should trust the consensus of official experts rather than robust and open scientific debate.

The next chapter analyses the thinking of Yuval Noah Harari, an influential WEF adviser and keynote speaker, quoting directly from his works. He recognises no spiritual plane of existence, claiming that organisms are algorithms and life is data-processing. He anticipates the emergence of a small and privileged elite of upgraded humans, dominating the rest of us as an inferior caste. However, in his latest book, he does refer to love as the sense of being connected, and his more recent message seems not entirely consistent with his earlier writings. The remaining chapters of the book are devoted to censorship, and the Great Resets in energy and food, involving further centralisation and consolidation of power. Some form of social credit system is likely to be imposed via digital ID, central-bank digital currencies and perhaps vaccine passports. This money will be credit that can be cancelled by the authorities if you engage in ‘wrongthink’ (Justin Trudeau already froze the bank accounts of people supporting the truckers and Joseph Mercola was debanked). Terrorism is being redefined as political dissent.

All in all, this is a bracing and informed analysis, warning of the shape of things to come in the absence of widespread pushback and resistance, as is currently happening with the proposed WHO pandemic treaty and European farmers. The prospect of the UN declaring a ‘planetary emergency’ on the basis of a compact signed in September 2024 is very real, and they will arrogate draconian centralised powers that may also lead to climate lockdowns and individual carbon budgets in the name of safety and security. I think Jones is right that we are in a war for the future of the world and are living through a crucial period of collective choice where it is our duty to be as informed as possible and act accordingly in an ethical manner.
