by Julian Baggini ✦ Review by David Lorimer, December 2002
An excellent book that brings a good breath of philosophical fresh air into consideration of the philosophical issues behind the headlines. Baggini covers many issues of interest such as rights and responsibilities, the just war, public and private morality, GM foods, therapeutic cloning and euthanasia. More than that, he digs into the underlying questions about the nature of knowledge and proof, the reliability of science and even the status of truth. The book is well written and will appeal to those wishing to get behind the headlines with some clear thinking.
