The Blade of Grass and the Footprint of the Calf
Writing out of the Vedic tradition of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the author of this subtle book takes on the impossible task of describing the infinite with the finite tool of words. As he points out, words are unnecessary in states of meditative transcendence, but they are required to describe the ladder reaching into the transcendent and self-realisation. The book evokes the process of separation and reunion, using both prose and poetry. Here is an extract from a poem entitled E = MC2 + love:
Love.., Life Word, Logos, Aum Sound.., Light Form, Feel, Flavour Sense
Experience, Enjoy Speaker, spoken Seer, seen Creator, creation Master, servant Duality
Incarnation Spirit, matter Experience, enjoy Duality, opposites Gain, loss Master, servant Servant, master, Loss
The poem ends: Life, Death Time, space, energy Here, there Now, then Mind configuration Light, speed, matter E = MC2 + Love
Meanwhile, he observes, 'science continues to look for conceptualisations in order to explain conceptualisations.'
