The God Code

The Secret of our Past, the Promise of our Future

The central claim of this book is that a translation form the biblical alphabets of Hebrew and Arabic to modern chemistry reveals that 'the precise letters of God's ancient name are encoded as the genetic information in every cell, of every life', and that the message reads 'God/Eternal within the body'. This means that humankind is one family (an observation frequently made in the statement that the Fatherhood of God implies the brotherhood of man), that we are united through a common heritage and are the result of an intentional act of creation. This last point situates the author between creationism and the Big Bang. The key text is the 'Sepher Yetzirah and the author's hope is that his insight will be a contribution to world peace as people become aware of their common origin. This, though, has already been said not only by religion but also by science in evolutionary theory, but it has had little practical impact. The book is clearly written, with excellent summaries at the end of each chapter, but I am not sure that readers will be persuaded by its connections between ancient wisdom and modern science.
