The Work We Were Born to Do

Janine Edge writes: This is an intensely practical book for eliciting the work you love and how to create the opportunity to do it. There are no references in this book to set careers and how to follow them. Instead it is crammed with exercises to reveal and deal with all possible psychological blocks to finding our true individual purpose. The chapter on money, for example, is designed to bring to the surface our negative associations with money as well as show us how to overcome resistance to charging for our own services. The author says that finding the work we were born to do is a spiritual process. There are quotes from mystics, writers, poets, philosophers and spiritual texts, with copious case histories to inspire and illustrate. This book could be used either as a systematic course to help you completely change direction, or dipped into for an adjusting touch on the tiller. Also available is a sequel by the author, Unconditional Success: Loving the Work We Do, on how to achieve our goals (Bantam Press 2002, £10.99).
