Research on the Relationship between Religion and Health
by Christopher A Hall, Theodore J Chamberlain ✦ Review by David Lorimer, August 2002
A fascinating research resource that documents the relationship between faith and health. Religion is defined as realised when it is concretely applied to life. The book begins with a consideration of the role of prayer in health and healing, then moves on to faith healing, mental health, life satisfaction, mental disorders, marital satisfaction and incidence of suicide. In each case the research is reviewed and followed by references and a bibliography with key texts annotated in detail. It is an invaluable introduction to this growing research field.
