Philosophy of Science, a Very Short Introduction

Another excellent book in this OUP series. It begins with a brief history of science, moving on to scientific reasoning and the nature of explanation in science. Next comes the arguments around realism and a balanced discussion of the nature of scientific revolutions. A chapter on philosophical problems in physics, biology and psychology is followed by a final one outlining scientism and the science and religion debate.
