Temenos Academy Review 2009

This is the 12th in the series of annual reviews consisting of essays, poetry and book reviews. The volume opens with some reflections by Kathleen Raine on TS Eliot's Ash Wednesday and there are notable contributions by William Bedford on Ted Hughes and the Shaman's Journey, Jeremy Naydler on the sacred art and culture of ancient Egypt and Stephen Cross on the 'knot of the heart' in the Upanishads as well as a piece from the 12th century scholar Thierry of Chartres on the six days of creation in Genesis, which appears in English from the first time. There is also a tribute to John Michell and many fine poems.
