The Spirit within Us

Evelyn Capel was the first English woman to be ordained into the Steiner Christian Community. The contents of this book were originally letters written in the 1950s to members and friends of the Community, reflecting that tradition and its views on the inner life. Her course was called the philosophy of spiritual activity and is highly practical in its thoughts about everyday life and spiritual practices of contemplation, concentration, and meditation. She shows great understanding of our states of consciousness, recommending that we set aside regular times for inner activity respecting the rhythms of life and different types of mental activity.
